Wild Weekend

Ya'll, I needed to come back to work for a vacation after this weekend.

So, I leave work on Friday and go home to begin baby shower preparations. There wasn't a whole lot I could do before then, becuase the food would have gone bad or gotten, we, just yukky. So.... I go home, put together fruits trays, veggie trays, iced 40 cupcakes and gathered together everything I needed to go. I did get some help. Madison and Dale were helping me eat the fruit as quickly as I was cutting it up. Alex was wanting to help ice the cupcakes, what a mess! They were having fun though. By the time I got everything together, it was 10pm. I had had plans of going over on Friday evening and decorating so that, I could just have a non-stress filled day on Saturday and could just enjoy the baby shower. Yeah, you know it rained and I couldn't do anything. I did take everything over there and put in it the house but my plans were put off until Satuday before I could put out or decorate anythig. UGH!!!!!

Saturday morning rolls around, I get up bright and early to try to get the day started. Dale has a double header today that I want to try to get to see some of. I did get to see the first 3 innings of his first game. They were winning 13-0 when I left so I felt safe to go at that point. They ended up winning that gaem 13-2 and winning the second game 3-2. It was a good day in Baseball.

Madison and I get over to the farm about 1230 so that we could decorate before the arrival of guests which began about 130. We were rushded needless to say. We hung up the most beautiful paper lanterns that looked great. I had these tall bug candles that looked like a really tall popscicle, it was so windy from the storm the night before that it took a long time to get them to light and then they didn't stay lit. So we battled the sweat bee's all afternoon.

Finally, all the guests and the guest of honor got there and the party began. It was a very nice, quaint little party. We all huddled under a shade tree to try to avoid the bright sun. I think the games I picked out were good. They weren't your typical, crossword, unscramble, dirty diaper games that we all are uses to playing. We played, the price is right, what's in the bag, and my favorite, pass the prize game. It was good fun that I hope everyone enjoyed. Samantha got lot's on nice things that I am sure my grandbaby (Aidyn) to be will look dashing in and use well. Especially his new Titan's gear. :) ( I hoped to have pictures to show you but my computer is not agreeing with me today so maybe I can post them tomorrow)
The shower was no more than over than did a friend of Samantha's who is also having a baby, go into labor, so she rushed there to be with her friend and had a very long night in the process.
Madison was swept away by Air Force One for dinner and a movie, and I went home to find my baseball superstar still in his game winning uniform.
After a couple more hours of running here and there, the night was finally over about 1030 and i went to bed.

Sunday, Father's Day, came in with breakfast (French Toast) prepared by one Alex Becker. He was very proud of his cooking that he had done. Madison and Dale were not very happy to be getting woke up so early (930 am) on a Sunday morning but once they saw food, it wasn't so bad. Tom opened his first Father's Day gift of the day. A new Goldwing jacket. He wore it to work this morning so I think he liked it. :)
Dale's next ballgame was at 1pm. Now, I ask you, who schedules ballgames on holidays? It was about as humid as it could have been and the mosquito's were out in force. It was a loss for the day but a hard fought game.
Samantha came back down Sunday after her friend delivered a healthy baby boy on Sunday morning. We all went to dinner at Cracker Barrel. Tom loves the grilled chicken on sour dough bread. It was good and we all ate way too much. Then we went to UDF for ice cream. Black Raspberry chocolate chip for me. Mmmmmmm!!!
Then it was off to Home Depot. We got some perennials for the landscaping in progress that we've got going on at the house and a screwdriving in effort to fix my sweeper. I think the sweeper may be a lost cause.
Went and got fire wood, came back home and built a small fire. Again, a long hot day and wore out.
So as you can see, I really needed to come back to work for a break. I may take a nap at lunch. hahaha
I will put up pictures soon.

Silverwing

Don't know how many of you know that Tom bought a motorcycle a couple of weeks ago. This is a picture from the internet that looks just like it. Dale was super excited! He has riden it through the yard a few times. He did say that it was a lot bigger and different than riding his dirt bike. He was also super excited to find out that he can get a learners permit at 15 and can ride it on the road, supervised by an adult licensed rider. UGH!!!! Not sure I am all excited about that but..... we'll see. ;)

My first post!

So, here it is ya'll. My first blog post. I hope to use this to keep in touch with family that I don't get to see or talk to everyday so that you can stay in touch with what is going on the the world of Beckerdom. LOL!!! There are some friends here at work who have inspired me to do this, so I hope everyone enjoys it. More to come soon! Love to all!
